Lean the essentials of tapestry / frame loom weaving with me in these 3 hour workshops happening at Knit City this September / October!
There are three classes on offer (all are the same class, just different dates):
Saturday, September 30th 2-5pm
Sunday October 1st 2-5pm
Monday October 2nd 10am-1pm (at the SweetGeorgia Studio)
Class Description: During this hands-on class you’ll learn how to set up your loom, the mechanics of weaving, different ways of creating texture and pattern and how to finish and remove your completed pieces. You’ll leave this class with an understanding of the fundamentals of tapestry weaving so that you can confidently develop your own individual and contemporary weaving practices. Along with instruction there will be plenty of time during this class to begin your very first woven wall-hanging.
Your class fee includes everything you need to begin and continue weaving (and yes! all of this is yours to keep): a beautiful, locally made, maple frame loom, essential tools, a selection of beautiful yarns generously provided by SweetGeorgia and an extensive booklet of step-by-step weaving techniques and resources.
Materials required to bring: a pair of small scissors or snips
