During this intimate 3-hour, hands-on class you’ll learn how to set up your loom, the mechanics of weaving, different ways of creating texture and pattern and how to finish and remove your completed pieces. You’ll leave this class with an understanding of the fundamentals of tapestry weaving so that you can confidently develop your own individual and contemporary weaving practices. Along with instruction, there will be plenty of time during this class to begin your very first woven wall-hanging.
Your class fee includes everything you need to begin and continue weaving (and yes! all of this is yours to keep): a beautiful, locally made, maple frame loom, essential tools, a selection of natural-fibre yarns and alternative weaving materials and an extensive booklet of step-by-step weaving techniques and resources... plus a re-usable silk-screened tote bag to help you carry all of this home!
Light refreshments will be served.
